What is TSUKIYO? Original Blog

You’ve found the name “TSUKIYO” somewhere—maybe in a search engine, on TikTok, or just through word of mouth.

But what exactly is TSUKIYO?
Why is it creating streetwear and selling car parts?
Where did the idea come from—and what does “TSUKIYO” even mean?

THE ORIGINS

TSUKIYO originally started as a watch brand.
Why? Because anything mechanical has always fascinated me. From screaming inline-6 engines to dead-silent Seiko movements, I’ve always been drawn to machinery. I used to make Seiko MODs and sold them across Germany. Eventually, I moved from eBay to my own website—but that didn’t last long, and I shut the business down due to struggles with marketing.

Yet the name TSUKIYO never lost its spirit or meaning.
“Tsukiyo” translates to “moonlit” or “a moonlit night.”

The name kept resonating with me while I started focusing again on my lifelong dream—building cars. Not even three years into having my license, I’d already owned over 10 cars... and crashed two. One while drifting, one due to a lack of ABS and experience.

If you're wondering what cars I’ve owned:

  • VW Fox 1.2

  • MX-5 NB Titanium Grey 1.6

  • Honda Civic Ferio 1.4iS

  • E36 316i Boston Green

  • Daihatsu Applause (yeah, that’s a thing)

  • Honda Civic EG4 Hatch in Black

  • E36 316i Samoablau (lowered, with some extras)

  • E36 316i Technoviolett (lowered, loud, and M-packed :D)

  • E39 520i Topasblau

  • And finally, my ‘98 Accord Coupe.

I’ve been trying to start a streetwear brand since I was 14—seven years ago now.
Even longer have I dreamed of doing something car-related.
One year ago, TSUKIYO Streetwear was officially born.

STREETWEAR & CARS

Since last year, I’ve been working on streetwear and building a proper website.
Just when I thought I was done—I deleted everything and started over from scratch.

I had a few videos online last year, but personal stress kept me from continuing YouTube.

Now, I’ve revamped everything.
TSUKIYO isn’t just “basic” streetwear anymore.
I’ve raised the quality to the max—shifting from simple polyester/cotton prints to heavyweight cotton, clean stitching, custom packaging, and more.

But that’s not all.

Under the name TSUKIYO Imports, I also sell replacement and tuning parts on eBay—ranging from OEM-quality parts to rare finds straight from Japan.

WHAT IS TSUKIYO’S GOAL?

Our goal is to complete a triangle:

  • Deliver high-quality streetwear

  • Launch a retail store for parts

  • Start exporting JDM cars worldwide

I’m planning a trip to Japan (and hopefully a move there) to document everything on camera.

TSUKIYO will become your go-to source for:

  • Streetwear with a story

  • OEM + tuning parts

  • Legal, export-ready JDM cars

And eventually—my own workshop.

So far, TSUKIYO has been a one-man show with the never-ending support of my wife.
That’s about to change, though, as I plan to grow the team this year.

FINAL WORDS

Thank you for reading this far.
I will always be grateful for anyone who supports TSUKIYO and will try to give back to the community as much as possible.

Right now, our community is still just a handful of close people—but I won’t stop until I reach every goal I’ve set for myself.

With love,
GK
